There are a ton of them and I don't know which one I need.

I have stock pipes so is that 2.5" in and out?

Also how long do I want it?

2.5 inch in off set/center out will work fine. i think all the 40 series are about the same size.

flowmaster 40 arent that quiet in the cab...you will have a bit of drone. the flowmaster40 delta flow is a bit quieter in the cab..............they all sound awesome though!! i love the flowmaster sound. and if you are getting just the muffler...cut the old one out..weld in the new one.........so it can be a little tricky if you dont have a welder. but an exhaust shop can cut the old one out for ya and install the flowmaster for ya for around $50 or so.

If you want quieter - the flowmaster 50 and 70 are quieter.
I have the flowmaster 50 dual cat-back setup. The noise level is different compared to stock, but the 50 isn't obnoxious at all. You can install it yourself (easier when you have a buddy with you to help ya). I don't have experience with the 70 series, but from what I hear...that's even quieter (but doesn't come in a kit. I think you can only get that as a muffler only (it's BIG).

I rode with my friend in his friends car, and he had a flowmaster, i don't remember what kind of flowmaster, but all i remember is that it was annoying on the freeway, especially since we took a long trip across california and nevada. Anyway, I love how the Tacoma's cabs are quiet on the road, will having a flowmaster 40 destroy the quiet, or will it just add a little bit more ambiance, if you will, to the cab

well.....everyone is a bit different, but i dont think that the flow 40 is all that loud in the cab, but then again, i love the flowmaster sound. someone who isnt crazy about flowmaster may think its the loudest thing ever in the cab. im not gonna lie......you can definitely hear it in the cab, but to me...it aint bad.:D

i have the 40 series delta flow which are supposed to be quiter in the cab. love the noise inside but you do get some drone to go along with it. it hurts my ears cause i drive around in a big truck every couple of days with sirens blarin on top of it. but someone reccommended sound dampening the truck and im gonna do that after the lift. all in all great muffler great buy and its as easy as cutting out the old and welding in the new.
