Had anyone here ever made their own kit. I got a 1gpm@35psi pump for now eventually going to a 1.8gpm. My question is what did yall use for a nozzle and how do you know how much to spray.?

Those are generally only used with forced induction; you boosting?

Yea 2jz in a 01 taco through a th400. The set up should be around 1200hp at the crank so around 1100 at the wheels.

Damn sweet....and I have no clue about your nozzle question. I was just checking because I've seen some N/A guys asking about these thinking they're like a magical nitrous power adder.

It adds normally about 10hp n/a with no retune because of the cylinder temp drop.if you added a good bit of timing or upped the compression you could get huge gains n/a.I think I'm going to go with an adjustable 5gph nozzle with a 2gph high pressure pump. That seems to be what the dsm forums are using over 1000hp.

I won't argue what's working, but if the pump had more output than the nozzle flow you could get a nice misting which seems like it'd be better than a stream. My curiosity, as much as it is a suggestion.

You want a fine mist. The nozzle is adjustable (the one I'm looking at )

I bought some new washdown pumps for one of my boats. After much searching, the best deal I found for high output was TRAC. It's rated at 5.3 gpm and 70psi, bought on Amazon for $120. I haven't measured the output, but it's about on par with an average home garden hose using an average hose nozzle on it. Tho the literature doesn't state it, it looks to have an adjustment screw for the pressure cut-out switch. These only run on demand so it can be powered all the time and it waits for a pressure drop before resuming pumping. It's a 5 chamber diaphragm pump and there's very little if any noticeable pulsing. I don't know if methanol will damage the rubber in it, assuming not, but(?). Your other option would be an impeller or vane pump. Harbor freight has both (utility marine pump I think), but don't have the automatic pressure cut-out; could add one in-line or just run it on demand.

Do not make your own setup. Get a devilsown progressive kit. Less than $500 and one heck of a kit for the money. Ran this on a 420whp/500wtq 3.4/5vz and 600whp/1100wtq 5.9 cummins with great results. On your setup start with say 5% water vs fuel being injected and check gains while increasing to 20% or so at most water vs fuel injected. You will find a point where spraying more will not benefit you and this will be dependent on many variables. When calculating remember meth must be factored in as fuel not as part of water mix.
