I purchased the 2015 v6 4x4 xtra cab taco last month I already have about 100 miles off-road and wondering how often should I be switching the air filter out I assume a air filter life is cut down faster off-road than on highway. Is there a certain amount of miles I should be watching going on dirt roads or better brand/type of filter i should get other than the over the counter AutoZone type? Thanks

Not really... People say every 6 mos, but yearly is also realistic. You honestly just need to check it and see how dirty it is. If you really feel like you are putting it through the shit, get a AFE Pro Dry filter and that way at least you aren't replacing all of the time, just cleaning.

check it after off-roading, the intake will suck sand and small rocks all the way into to filter. If your mileage drops ck the filter....
