It has to be two separate purchases.

Ross you are correct.....since the dealership in Honolulu got stiffed a couple of times, they now make you take ownership of the vehicle and then you purchase the SC. But as long as you buy it the same time, the dealer will install with no charge. Althought they already charging an arm and a leg...hehe

It can be done but you still have to have the computer reflashed. Not a hard install, not easy ether, it takes the dealer anywhere from 5-10 hours depending if they have installed one before.

I was thinking of getting one when I purchase my tacoma. Do you think it would make sense to purchase and get it installed after I collect the tacoma or have them install it and collect it all in one go?

    Thanks for the input.

I had the delaerhsip install it before i took mine home. I think it would be more difficult to take it home then take it back to the dealership.....but it all depends on your alternate mode fo transportation or how close you live to the dealership.

^ How do you like it ? I'm guessing you haven't compared a non-supercharged taco to your blown once since you bought it that way. I just purchased my TRD supercharger and am waiting for it to come in. I hope it makes a nice difference. I've been getting pissed off on the highways getting passed up on merges :D

Well i have a 99 four banger.....so you can definitely feel the difference, but since i drive a v6 now, it won't be a fair comparison......but right now while i'm waiting for the engine to be broken in, i just tap on the pedal and my truck is flying. Can't wait a few more months to let the beast go.:)

The SC is so much fun. I ran about 3000 miles without one and then bought mine online and had my local dealer do the installation. It's a completely different truck with the SC. No regrets here.

Was yours still under factory warranty even though you bought it after the purchase and bought the SC elsewhere?

13.9 dub cab long bed down the 1/4 mile on youtube.

there's one that has done a 13.3 but the douche strips his truck down to nothing, so the time isn't accurate as it wouldn't be how you run the truck on the street.
