    So I'm thinking about ordering the Dynomax Stainless Steel Catback system, part number 39447 from Jegs.com for $256, then a $75 rebate, so for $181! My question is this: Does this installation require any welding? I know that I'll have to cut some of the pipe to make it fit a DC short bed. Thanks in advance.

    Save some more money by just buying the muffler. Your new stock pipe should be mandrel bent and work great.

    Well if I buy just the muffler, it's about $100, plus I have to pay somebody to install it, as I don't have welding equipment. If the catback system doesn't require any welding, I can pay $181 total and install it myself, and have all new tubing and a stainless steel tip. IMO, that's worth the small amount extra I'll pay over the muffler plus the installation.

    One more question...Would it be better to sub a super turbo muffler in or keep the ultra flow that comes with the kit?

    I would just have a super turbo welded in. Total shouldnt be more than $100. Your stock exhaust is stainless by the way

    I bought one from Summit Racing for 56 or so dollars. But if you dont know anyone with a welder then it might be a PITA. Just a thought. Either way I think you will be happy. I just put mine on and love it. I just turned it down at the axle. Good luck

    Is the super turbo better for our trucks than the ultra flow? I know Chris4x4 likes it, but I'm just wondering what the difference is...different tone? volume? little more HP?

    I just had a ultra flow welded in and have no complaints. Sounds great. THe way I understand it from the dynomax site is that the ultra flow is louder than the super turbo. But is't not loud enough to be a bother.

    I think the people that are having the most success with Dynomax products on this truck are buying the larger (longer) mufflers than are included in the catback system.

    I would take the advice of everyone else and simply buy the longest muffler (anything longer than the 19" muffler designed for use with the kit) that you can get and have a shop weld it on.

    On a positive note, Jegs customer service is second to none.
