Check with your local state laws. It's probably illegal remove your CAT or mess with any emmissions components.

modern engines are designed to run best at a certain backpressure in the exhaust system. Remove the cats and you lose that backpressure and hence horsepower unless you make a lot of other modifications. People that claim an increase in horsepower just think it's so because of the noise.

Police aren't stupid. I'm pretty sure they know how to tell when one is hollow just by the sound....

And what about state inspection? Pretty sure they will notice and you'll be paying for a new cat. Not cheap, btw.

What?? Yeah, that sounds like a GREAT idea. Who cares if you have no brakes or your ball joints are falling out, right? Wow, that may be the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time.

State inspections are performed for safety reasons. The items inspected include things like brakes, exhaust, steering, and suspension. Got it now, or should I dumb it down some more for ya?

And that is what I'm saying is not a good idea. State inspections are in place for those that don't know enough to know that they have faulty equipment.
Some poor old lady with no brakes or a loose tie rod might not realize she has a problem until the item gives out completely.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I take it the HP gain was verified by a dyno, and not a "butt" dyno?

Maybe that's why no one does it.
