My GSD is good with beds its when he gets toys i have yet to find a toy that he cant tear through in minutes....its rediculous than my black lab on the other hand doesnt chew anything and is like a person...but my GSD is 8 months old so thats probably a big part of it. if anyone knows of some heavy duty squeak toys let me know cause he'll chew through everything short of kevlar!

Honestly Kong's are about it even with mine being 3 and 2 now. Luckily we have an endless supply of tennis balls since there are courts at the top of the street and they always seem to misplace their balls. :D

Bit of a late reply on my end..... But I love sending him after the birds. I didn't even have to teach him that. I am teaching him to point out other animals now.

Just curious - do you folks let your dogs on the couch? We let ours up only if we give them the signal (pat the cushion next to us), but some friends are strictly against it.

And for the most recent picture:

He is just over 6 months old and putting on mass real quick. No one is sure how big he is going to get, but in the last 4 months he has added 15 lbs.

I let all five of mine sit or lay where ever they want to. They are my kids...but I never let them forget I am the Alpha Dog. The 65lb boxer usually lays in my lap as he thinks he is a lap dog.

I didn't used to let Riley on the couch but I do now. And if you're a guest sitting in his spot, he'll just sit and stare at you-it's kind of funny.

It gets annoying when he decides to stretch out tho.

I meant to add that a good rough number is double his weight at 6 months. Of course, it could be higher or lower-it mostly works.

We do, that's why we got leather furniture. He pretty much gets on and off at his choosing, though if we pat the couch he will hop right up. Moving him off is another thing...

No dogs on furniture, here. I take the girls with me, when visiting family and they don't want the girls on their furniture. If they aren't used to climbing up, they'll stay off.

Nothing wrong with you only allowing him up, when you want him up.
