Beautiful. I did not know there were still any wild horses in the U.S.

those are some awesome photos and even more awesome horses. I love how the horses and people are just chilling together on the beach. It's very surreall. I would love to experience being near wild horses.

It was real nice being around these horses while at the beach. They are very peaceful to watch as the waves hit the shore. Beside the horses at Assateage Island National Park, there is a section designated for 4 wheel drive vehicles to travel on and you can see even more horses father down the shore line towards Virginia.

On this shoot I used a Nikon D200 with a Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens. This is my preferred setup but on most occasions I carry a Nikon D60.

    Awesome!!
Where exactly was that? I'm amazed there are people on the beach. I mean...I guess I always thought the horses were somewhat away from the tourist areas and away from the homes & such. But then again, they're wild and roam where ever the hell they want!!

We were down there years ago....driving on the beach back by some very expensive homes on sand roadways. Saw one horse.... That made the trip that much better!

There are wild horses on Cumberland Island off the coast of Georgia. They say that they aren't actually wild but descendants of horses owned by the Carnegie family. You can only get to the island by boat and only 300 visitors per day are allowed. http://activerain.com/blogsview/646...orgia-part-i-national-sea-shore-s-wild-horses
