I hope thats not gonna be your walk around. It hardly has any focal length strength, on a full frame itll be way to short. Thats a sweet ass lens though nevertheless. I though about getting it but decided not to, its too pricey to use only on landscapes. Im in the process of selling two of my lenses and picking up a 17-70 2.8, cant wait.

nah i wouldnt use it on the FX. it would be way too wide. i NEVER zoom. EVER. unless im shooting surfing. or something of that nature. 9 times out of 10 i got the 18-55mm lens keeping at 18mm.

the lens gets better reviews than nikons comparable the nikkor 12-24mm for like half the price.

i mean an 11-16mm f2.6....you cant go wrong

its a hard decision if you want it all lol.. i remembered when i was deciding on my tacoma or a 1d mark 4, i had massive headache.. well i went with the taco and now im half way saving for the 1D.. so i say go with full frame, you can always save up later for that lens. If you go with d7000+lens then there is less chance you would ever get a FF any sooner

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
There is no way I'm going to try a talk you out of a D700 it's an amazing camera. But there has been talks of replacing the D700 on NikonRumors Nikon denys it but they did the same thing with the D300s & the D7000 so you never know.

I don't want to see you pull the trigger on a D700 and Nikon replace it in a few months with a new advanced model.

in this economy, unless you plan to make money with the camera to where you make more money in a year than you spent buying the thing, then, just get what's in your budget now...

invest in the high end glass lens, not so much the body...

    Lots.
I've always heard it's more about the glass than the body.

hmmmm...i just went to my local camera shop and played with the d700(full frame) and its a beautiful camera. its amazing to see what a 50mm actually looks like. to see what 26mm actually looks like. the difference is jaw dropping. and if i get some pro glass.....it will look better on the FX camera rather than the DX format.

i cant make a decision until the d7000 comes out. i have to play with that camera first. but until then im gonna save up as if im getting the full frame.... only time will tell.

my budget is whatever the camera costs. if its the full frame then i will just wait longer to go full frame.
and my plan is to make a living. or do my best to get to that point. im transferring to brooks institute. so. yeah
yeah but im gonna upgrade the body either way.

my logic is. why get a d7000 and want to upgrade to full frame. in a few years. so it would be a waste of 1500.00 now and want to upgrade to full frame. if im gonna do it. im gonna do it right.
