The adapter can affect how the lens works but it really depends on which adapter you choose. You gotta search and find the right one.

Keep in mind that most lenses today are electronic. The focus motor and aperture are controlled by the camera body. So older lenses will often need to be focused and have their aperture set manually.

Some adapters allow you to switch between brands-I use one I picked up from some dude in the UK to run my Nikon 14-24 on my Canon bodies. At the time, it was the 'best' for that combination. Since then, there are several other manufacturers that have come on the scene. And you can get adapters to adapt telescopes or spotting scopes to your camera too.

Adapters and older lenses are definitely worth a look.

you will always encounter those situations... in the past 11 years, i have been in a shit ton of challenging predicaments... just have to be quick on your feet and ready to adapt at the drop of a dime...

To compare with the nicer one that already posted? That would be very interesting to see as well..

I think I'm gonna try the more expensive one..figure it worth a shot with all the lenses I can try..

    Yea looks cool!

The way I see it..my dad has 2000 bucks worth of lenses..might as well give it a shot haha

I mean an 85-300mm is sweet!

    And a 500mm! So cool.

And no worries man :D learn new stuff everyday

that's how it starts... it was a hobby for me and then things lined up and i was able to go full time pro...

adaptability is key as you may often find folks who will set out to throw a wrench in the works...

nah, just thinking of going with the cheaper costing one to save a buck... way i figure it, i only need it to convert the physical mount aspects of the lens to the body as all other controls of the lens to body will be manually handled by me..

if it was a function whereby the more expensive converter offered communication between body and lens, then the expensive converter would be my first choice...

    Valid point..that makes sense..

That ones doesn't affect the lens stuff as much does it.

since it doesn't have a glass element to it, it may not impact it too much other than mess with the focal lengths and f/stops due to the increased distance between the inner glass element of the lens and the body mirror, but won't know for sure until i can get my hands on it...
