Dang. Does anyone else notice a HUGE difference in their photos when they upload them to TW? I didn't have these on flickr so I uploaded them on here and the compression must really eat them up because they look nothing like my files I have open ha lame.

I do like SmugMug better from what I've seen. If I was a pro or trying to sell my work or something I would definitely get SmugMug. Since I'm still a newb and just learning the ropes and having a good time haha Flickr will do just fine. I just always forget to upload to it. I really need to link it with my LR5 so it's fast and easy and I have no excuse. But, alas, I am lazy ha

Thanks! I was trying out HDR Efex Pro.

This was a mill my Grandmother worked in that burned a few years ago. This city was once a mill town and now all of them are being turned into loft apartments. I wish I could have gotten in some of them before they were closed down to photograph.

If you notice the clock on the front of the building stopped when the fire started.

It's both. Plugs in to LR and PS or as a stand alone. As a stand alone it can't process RAW though, only jpegs and tiff. I got the whole collection a while back and just now getting around to playing with it.

    interesting..

not sure it would be much different then Photomatrix which is what i have been using for HDR.

It only does jpeg or TIFF too. But i have never seen any loss with 16bit tiffs.

You can input RAW into Photomatix though, just not output them.
I typically convert my files to jpeg when I export them out of LR anyway, just so I can actually post them places and not exceed file size or file type restrictions.

Do you do things differently or solely embed from Flickr or something? Just curious.

I can take photos all day. Where I feel I am weakest is in understanding technology thereafter ha I can't even change a file size or do pretty much anything with stuff on my computer. I just import, edit, export, and that's it. For my age you'd think I would know how to use a computer ha nope.

hahaha well there are TONS of export options..haha

For flickr..i just put it on the flickr set and publish it. LR then converts it to a jepg on my last export settings and uploads the full size to flickr and i think flickr dresizes it automatically.

For photomatrix, i grab RAW and put it straight in. I believe PM converts them to tiff right then and there for exposure mapping or tone blending. Then export it as a tiff 16 uncompressed. re load into LR and do final touches if needed and cropping. Then export as a jpeg via flickr.

I never export directly to my HD anymore unless i need too for TCT mag or something. Otherwise it all just goes to flickr. Saves space.
