A 35 prime or telephoto if you don't have one already. I love my little 55-250 canon.

I need to go out and shoot. I haven't done much other than sports here lately. got some killer sunsets the other day but they're still sitting in camera. Me and Brie are house sitting for 3 weeks and I don't have my iMac with LR4, I only have my MacBook Pro, and sadly it doesn't have LR. I only have Aperture on it and I'm very unfamiliar and very dissatisfied with the amount you can do with Aperture.

Even though my sports work has been really good as of recent, I feel "stuck" creatively. I have a shot of a lighthouse near where my dad lives and I just don't like the photo, its very "meh" to me.

I get that way way too often. I feel stuck a lot and it's sad. I haven't been to hardly any basketball games this year, for one reason I just haven't had time, and another reason I just haven't felt like it  I'm ready for warmer weather.

I haven't done basketball yet, but will hopefully soon. I've contacted USF Athletics to be put on their freelance list (I know I can do better than what they are publishing, honestly). I haven't heard back yet because school has been closed.

I'm making plans on shooting some of our local R/C races and hopefully selling some prints

Yeah, I'm not impressed with many of those shots. I remember you posting some last year I think, and they were much better than that.

I bet those R/C races are fun!

I've been following the thread and trying to figure out if they are weekly challenges or what. I haven't done a whole lot of research into it, just been seeing what the challenge is at the particular time.

Yea once a week. Challenge is given. You get a week to come up with a shot to fit the challenge. Been fun.

    This one: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/photography/302888-weekly-photography-challenge-thread.html

Not the tacoma photo challenge one

Just submitted this into the photo challenge thread but I figured in here is more for critique. Opinions? Anything I could have done better?

Pope, awesome picture! I finally got a tripod for Christmas and used it tonight. Above photo is the result ^^^ is pretty foggy out tonight. I don't like how the lights on the lamp post turned out. Do you, or anyone, have a good article in regards to how to make sure I have the correct settings for light trails?

If the yellow lamps were a little more subdued, and the two brightest lights weren't there it'd be a super awesome shot, but i like as it is.

My aunt got upset with her daughter over the holidays because I showed her daughter/my cousin how to use aperture and shutter priority on her mom's fancy DSLR and she said her daughter shouldn't be doing that because she'll mess up the settings or something. Also told her not to take the lens off haha

Three of my relatives were also running around all night with their pop up flash going off and it ruined a couple of my photos ha
Anyone else run into that kind of stuff over the holidays?

It amazes me how many people actually think their DSLR magically takes "better photos" and get mad when you use A priority when they ask you to take their portrait.
