Panos i LOVE. I shoot a lot of them and like editing them.

But to get good ones..need a pano head..thats 400 bucks right there too..

I do both. Depends on what i am trying to frame really. But i tend to keep it at 18mm

i have never seen a pano shot of your

and thanks..i do like them..to me they are the closest thing you can do to capturing what i really see. and even then..sometimes just not enough..

the distortion is from not using a pano head. Because when you rotate the camera still moves in an arc. You want the piviot point to be the point where light enters the lens first. L lenses its where the red line is. Hard to tell on our cheaper ones.

But by doing that you get rid of a lot of the distortion and it turns out flatter. using the software right too helps.

im sure 18 seems wide after just having 70mm be your widest for so long :p haha

you can with the right tools. You pick the crop right and you'll never see the distortion as bad.

the 400 5.6 still. I got some monies from various family members towards a lens fund... So, it will go to a lens and not the truck :D I'm still gonna sit on the decision for a bit because it's a pert big one and I wanna be sure. I've been debating what tele since I got my camera cuz i knew I wanted one as soon as i started shooting. I just love shooting wildlife. Everytime I read more info/comparisons/reviews or revisit it i always end up "deciding" on the 400 5.6...

Also Ben, check out Microsoft ICE if you are on a PC for pano stitching. Worth lookin at.

haha well look at you with two of everything Monte...

and yea, the html/css/java is all in an 8 week course called Code WY (http://www.codewyoming.com/) I got into it and so far its really good. 6 hours a day of coding is really intense! Learned an absolute shit ton in two days so far...

and yea Ben, you are really making that tammy work hard! I like the first one as well! Excited to see what you do with that 100-400

    What haven’t I changed?
Good luck with making a decision. I agonized between the 400 5.6 and the 100-400 for at least a week.
