Is this coming weekend (17&18) and I would like to know if is worth to spend a day to go and also spend $25 on the entrance ticket.
    Thanks

2&3 and bad ass man. Both do it for me.

And yes that would work for panning!

    sorry late to reply...

i went last year on a free ticket...

total waste of time and parking... walked around for about 30 minutes then bailed to Hooters across the street...

the vast majority of the vendors were local mom and pop printing shops, Samys Camera, Paul's Photo, and a couple other shops, but pricing on gear wasn't as good as online via B&H...

The workshops were total orgies that reminded me of an import car show...

Maybe it got better this year but I recall hearing a lot of the same feedback from folks last year...

I was trying to figure out whether it was for Willow or for someone who shoots at Willow. Probably for Cali Photography which is who the track uses. They have a nice setup. Photo trailer with viewing stations so you shoot, edit and upload then constantly sell ;)

had a chance to try out the new (to me) 60D yesterday at a local stunt show...

Jason Britton and Eric Hoenshell were the riders

took a bit to find a decent setting...didn't find one i liked, but found one that worked...the rapid fire on this thing is awesome! definitely some differences that will take some getting used to coming from the t1i, but it should be a fun switch..

the TT600 is mine, Ninja 250r next to it is Kayla's and the red Honda 929rr is Jace's (think it's a 929)

for fast moving action, find a decent shutter speed, and go from there. you could have used shutter priority on your camera, and let your camera do all the work(after selecting a solid shutter speed).

for my bike pics, since it was sunny as hell, and the subject was moving pretty fast, 1/800s 100 iso at f4ish was what I was shooting at. used a d700 with a mamiya 80mm 1.9

my issue with shutter priority was the inability to adjust my focus easily. having the camera over head forced me to go with a higher f stop and go manual close to infinity. I brought it back a bit but still missed focus on many.

wish my auto focus was quicker. my tamrons have proven to not excel in that.

so I was at around f11 or so with speeds around 640 toward the end I think. on my phone or I'd check.

better positioning would have been awesome. definitely enjoy shooting stunt shows. capturing the smoke wrapping up the tires is always a favorite.
