Smugmug works pretty slick as a Lightroom Plugin! I can't believe I waited this long to get one going.

So in the past I just used the TW Media upload for posting my images. I would use Lightrooms export feature to convert them to jpegs and resize them to about 800 pixels on the short edge, highest quality to a folder on my HD. Theses would be photos I would use for uploading. So I added Smugmug to my Lightroom Plugins and have been uploading photos directly over to Smugmug at their original size (then I resize them prior to uploading). I can tell from the little use with Smugmug so far the files are a lot cleaner. Before when I uploaded images they were so degraded that my 100 % crops in Lightroom where sharper than my posted images, haha!

So im slowly learning what all the features are on my camera.Been online watching some tutorials and took these yesterday.one question I have is I can't set my shutter speed past 2 seconds without the picture being completely white. Do I need a stronger polarizing filter? My Iso is at 100 as well.

What stop filter are you using? If you use a 10 stop filter you can get very long exposure shots in bright sunlight. Be sure to focus "before" inserting the filter since you won't be able to see anything once installed.

Depends on how long you want your exposures to be. The longer the stops the longer you can keep your shutter open. You'll just have to play around with it until you get the look you are going for. This is especially nice if you are taking a picture of a still object in a lake and you want the lake to have that ethereal appearance.. You can also get graduated filters and stack them or filters that just screw onto the lens itself.

That' amazing. Is that in Oregon? Seeing this makes me hate the Los Angeles area even more. Stinky air, overpriced, and mostly shitty people.

Yup, everything you can think of ( except the beach) is 15 mins away from my city. Beautiful place for sure.. Trust me, we are seeing a lot of California people moving up here which sucks cause they are raising the prices for homes here due to so much demand...

Well.... With all the light pollution around my house I still managed to pull a few stars out. Sirius is the brightest star since that was the only one I could see to get a focus point on. Sad thing is that was a 1:30sec exposure. It's just too bright where I live. I'll have to travel quite aways to get away from the lights.

Ok... got to a darker location. Best I can do with a full moon out tonight. Not bad considering the only star I can see with the naked eye is Sirius

Bump your ISO up. Try 1600 and 3200. Decrease your exposure a little.

Yea you should be able to get tons of stars even in town with around 1000-2000iso at f2-4 and 30sec.
