Just replaced the D60 with a D7000. Added a Nikkor 28-300mm f3.5 - 5.6 lens. I'm amazed at how much larger and more substantial this camera is than the D60! Feels a lot like my F4S. Looking forward to shooting this.

COSTCO tries to keep that camera (D-7000) in stock here ... and they have sold out of it several times.

I would love to have that camera ... but I need to spend money on the house remodeling job..

    SOSHeloPilot,

Our Costco does not carry it at all. I shopped online at Cameta, B&H, and Adorama, but they were out of stock or did not have this combination. I ended up finding the last one out of about five stores I tried in the DFW area. I bought the body and lens at a local Wolf Camera for the same price I would have gotten it on-line PLUS I have local sales support from some very knowledgable folks. I was pleasantly surprised with the folks there since my only previous Wolf experience was in a store staffed by young kids with no knowledge of the products.

That said, I am learning a lot on a FLIKR group dedicated to the D7000 and by, imagine this....reading the manual !

As for buying it, I sold my Sea Doos and used a portion of the proceeds to get this camera, which I have been drooling over since it was introduced .

    Loving it so far !

    crf69,

Sorry, not for sale. My daughter has a claim on that one. She will now be using it for some of her classes in college. I got her a 55-200mm Nikkor lens on closeout at Target the other day at a great price too, since it was the last one in stock in the box. $249 reg price, bought it for $99. She's even happier now !

Found a D7000 group on FLIKR.com and have learned a few more things about the camera. This camera is pretty amazing to an old film guy ! It's more like a computer with a big lens...
