Ultimately it matters what they think, but from my perspective that was a great video. Helped viewers connect with each dog's story. Only suggestion might be adding more audio from the dogs themselves, but the fact that you included some was a nice touch and really helped. Great job!

The sound track doesn't really support the content which seems pretty upbeat-stories about successful rescues.

I understand completely about what you're saying. The audio really makes each video and is just as important as the video itself, but they weren't going an upbeat happy video. It took me awhile to select the audio due to the exact fact. The dogs are still with the organization and are looking for their forever homes so they wanted a video introducing them in that manner!

I agree. The audio was shot inside of a store so getting just the dogs audio and not the peoples, announcements, etc were really hard. As you can tell half way through it there was a gentlemen making a loud screeching noise at a dumpster that she had to try to talk over. The dog licking the water is actually just a final cut pro add on, maybe i can add some fake dog barking in there somewhere as well! The audio was taken from a 1 video interview, just using the GoPro as a mic, and i had to line it up and edit it with each dog.

I was able to figure that out but man, it's just depressing. Sorry for being so blunt.

Here's how I saw it. Some dogs with a bad break, rescued, and helped to become better pets. That's a really powerful message and one that should tell viewers what a great group they're working with. The music reminds me of an HSUS commercial begging for money. I feel like the message should be more positive and emphasize the work they do. Again, as long as your client is happy, that's all that really matters.

Thanks for being blunt! Thats why i stuck it in here to get some opinions about it. Makes me a better editor, no harsh feelings taken at all. I guess the only thing they are worried about is if it was an up beat, happy song, it wouldn't really get the message across about the animals being abused for the viewers to say "Awww" If you know what i mean. If they watch it and are happy when they watch it, then you don't get that urge to help with an issue as if you felt bad about it. . . If that kinda makes sense? lol

I edited a litte more (Added some dog noises and everything) so the link will no longer work until this one gets added back up! Thanks for all the comments! Appreciate it!

I would probably want more info on the group and the message they wanted to give but I might divide the story into three pieces "before", "rescue", "adoption", and close with "continued efforts". The before/rescue parts aren't necessarily happy but move from sadness to happiness (adoption event). Then seriousness when talking about the continued efforts.

I'd like to see what that slider looks like if you don't mind sharing a picture. Very cool video you got there. I'm a grip and I work with dollies all the time. I work on the show "house of lies"

That's so cool you work on that show! So here is the slider, really simple design. All I used were a few things from home depot and a few things around the house. Some wood, plastic piping (not pvc something harder but same area), end caps, some angle metal pieces, skateboard bearings and some screws. Bearings work well until the rails get dirty and wet from creek shots ha. I'm thinking of adding adjustable feet and a tripod quick release. I drilled a hole for one just need a longer screw.

thats sweet! maybe try using skateboard wheels or some time of rubber around the bearings to help give it some grip? metal bearings don't really have that much grip haha

That's actaully an awesome idea. I was thinking of making one with skateboard trucks so I can loosen them and have a curved pan shot. The gopro is so light weight though just the metal bearings do pretty well! I'll make a short video of it and post later.

The other reason for using poly wheels and that's they are quieter. If you use audio from your cams, poly wheels don't transmit as much noise to the mic.
