Sweet! I want a fisheye but I just can't justify it with all the lighting gear I still need lol.

I can't justify getting it either to be honest :p

I work for a large eBay company as their product photographer. They get in all kinds of things, and well the lens came down the line today so I set it aside and asked my boss if I could get it, and he offered me a price I couldn't say no to :D

That's pretty sweet! I'll be adding a Nikkor 105mm 2.8 macro to my Amazon cart in a couple days along with a ton of lighting stuff and other misc accessories :D

I'm trying to plan to shoot a event next year to help build my portfolio...

I'm thinking of shooting either a BITD event or the Pikes Peak Hill Climb

This is my setup for editing. I am spoiled. I need a good fluid head for my video setup. Anyone have any recommendations? Preferably around 400

Looking at lots of Manfrotto's, just not sure which one to get.

I personally took the photos in this listing. It's not a Manfrotto, but it's a nice video tripod with a very smooth head on it. Like I said, I personally took the photos, so I played around with it. The lever that is "broken off" stated in the listing is off, but can still be used fine it just won't stay on. It's considerably under your budget and will do basically the same thing. I have one that I bought that is nearly identical to this one and it's very nice. I work for the eBay company in the listing below. But if you are set on a Manfrotto I don't blame you. I have a Manfrotto monopod and love it. But if you want a good video tripod the one below is a good one for less than what you are looking to spend so you can put the extra toward a new lens or something.

Well, I can't get that one. For no other reason than I have to one up the guy I shoot with, and he has the same model :)

Can you swap out the feet for spiked? That's the only hesitation I have with that one, I need to be able to mount it to a dolly.

yes, the rubber feet can be removed and there are a set of spikes hidden under them...

hmmm, might be perfect then. I like that you can add weights to it. We recently had a windstorm up here that knocked out power to more than 60% of the city for about 5 days. Winds were upwards of 120 mph and I would have loved to have gotten some footage of trees crashing down but I couldn't leave my tripod up. I might pull the trigger on this one. Thanks man!

ya know, if you want a heavier tripod system, the Varizoom legs are heavy duty and solid...

i had that set up before this Manfrotto...
