You did that standing? Damn you're steady. Just kidding. Beautiful pic.

Can you give me some details on it. How long of an exposure, judging by the stars I would say less than a minute. What camera do you have? If Nikon slr I have some suggestions, that's why I ask.

It was a 30 second exposure, with a high exposure composition, iso was probly 1600, so i should have lowered it. but the photo is also not photoshopped or anything

and i used a nikon d40 with the kit lens.....just got her on saturday

Sweet. I've got a d50 and the longest exposure I can do is 30 seconds unless on bulb. If you do a long exposure it will help to put it on a 2 second timer because your hand will move it when you press the shutter release.

In order to take advantage of bulb for long exposures you'll need the wireless remote. I bought a cheap one on ebay for a couple of buck and I love it. I've done a couple of ten minute exposures at a medium aperature(like f8 or f11 or so) and iso 200 and they came out awesome. IMO night shots look great when you can see the stars moving it adds that little touch.

If you'd like I can give you a sample of what I'm talking about.

Exactly. It just gives it a nice touch. I'll get a photo or two in a sec. I've got to upload them.

Mine didn't come with a remote. I didn't know the newer ones did.
