You did the toad a nice honor with the photo. Glad you found the time to enter again.

I had never heard of the Wyoming Toad before. Thanks for sharing a little history on them.

I had a hard time with this weeks challenge. Could not come up with anything that I was excited about. Then I was in the back yard watering the new sod and saw a wood lizard run across the wood pile. Ran and got my camera and snapped a few. Went back to watering and saw an Anole jump from a bush to a tree and changed from green to brown. Tried to get a picture but the sun was terrible and he was on the move. Thankfully those little Anoles are all over and got this cool shot of one changing from brown to green.

I think this photo kind of represents what has changed over my life so far. I started off in a private school and even when switching to public school in 5th grade there was still prayer in school. Progress to today where that is not allowed.

Didn't know if I would have time to get one in this weekend, but just managed to squeak it in. Was volunteering as a photographer for a boat racing event we had this weekend. Still have about 400 photos to edit . We have a new bridge currently under construction replacing this ≈80 yr old bridge.

Well, I am going to submit this time. I have been loving life and my summer job working with the recovery of the Wyoming Toad. Not only is this job the first one I had in a wildlife management environment but it's hard to believe that we have been able to start seeing significant changes to the wild populations. This species was estimated to have a population of 25 and they had 12 toads left when they started their captive breeding program in 1989. Our surveys this summer have been the highest ever and it's hard to believe I can easily walk around the lake and find a larger male such as this.

    Thanks Murph,

Im not going to critique each of your photos, because I don't fell I'm qualified to do so but, I would like to congratulate each of you for some awesome shot and great stories that show why this symbolizes changes to you.

My top 2 were Gage and Marc.

Marc, I have a love for earth moving equipment (Research R.G. Letourneau). I really liked the brush in the foreground slowly sloping to mountains in the background, and of coarse the well used monster D10 with is dirt polished wear plates on the blade.

Gage, I loved the colors of the toad. The camouflage of the skin is awesome to look at, and the bulldog stance is pretty BA. But, the eyes are so deep and colorful! In the end, It was the eyes that swayed me to picking this picture as the winner.

So, Congrats Gage!! You and your frog win!! lol

O man, I went for a walk tonight and couldn't believe the amount of junk left by people. But it put me into a dark/black and white theme and really liking the outcome of a few of the photos.

It's amazing the amount of crap left everywhere and how people just don't care anymore. I was thinking about a B&W theme also for this challenge. This theme kind of comes across as a photojournalist type challenge. I've always liked telling the story in B&W.

Ran out of time last week so didn't get an entry in. Been at my first dog show (or driving to and from) with the breeder all this weekend and just got home. So my thought for litter is likely not the intended one for this challenge but it is in the dictionary LOL. Not a biggie if this doesn't qualify, I did want to get something up here so went with what I could.

After the conformation judging today got to run over to another breeder\trainer for Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers and do some Tolling & land and water marks for the upcoming National Specialty. The dog with the bumper in his mouth is just over 1 years old and won at show today. The other 2 are my dog and his sister and they just turned 9 months old, obviously they were from the same litter.

Congrats Marc and well done! I had a similar idea as I was passing one of those $700 fine for littering signs as I was driving through the cities this weekend. At 70 mph in bumper to bumper traffic and road construction everywhere not a chance, and it wouldn't be near as good with your background
