At 3:03pm today my grandfather moved to a better place. 78 years young and Im pretty lost at this moment. When i arrived at the hospital i rushed to the room, he was just awake enough to ask where i was. As soon as i grabbed his hand and started to tel him i love him, he drift off to sleep. My whole family was just crying, telling jokes and stories as we waited for it to come. We sat with him and talked to him for hours upon hours as he was sleeping, just telling him its all ok and things will be better for you soon. At the end i was holding his hand as he was sleeping. Heart rate slowed, my grandmother gave him a kiss and he went so peacefully. They were married for 60 years, and she knew it was time and was ok with it. The cancer, COPD, and emphsima got the best of him and i wish it wouldnt have. Were all taking it really well since for the past few months we knew time was getting short for him. Love ya gramps, ill see ya soon.
thanks for being here tacomaworld. right now i cant really deal with anyone, but tacomaworld has been a great place and i just needed to vent a little.

sorry to hear brother. He is in a better place now. When you find yourself down in the dumps, just tell yourself that.

Keep your head up. Your family (and family here on TW) will be there for you when you need to talk.

thanks TW family. Right now were all just pretty quiet, got most of all the emotions (laughter, sadness) all the good stuff out earlier. He was a great man, a fighter. He was a pretty funny guy yesterday as he was laying in the hospital bed. Just talking bout when he goes, just said put me in a pot and let me be. I dont want a service, i just want to be put on a shelf like a trophy the day after. Well he's getting his wish. even writing this im laughing and getting tears. What a day, what a event, what a man. Again thanks to all. Im off for the night. take care.
