Prayers sent. Sometimes it is a thing of beauty when the suffering ends and there is peace. I too watched my mother wither away and suffer for several years (lung disease) before decompensating on a trip 400 miles from home. I begged and prayed for her to hold on so I could say goodbye but they felt she was too weak and in too much pain to keep her alive. As I sped to see her she passed away so far from home, yet in the same town she was born which happened to be roughly half way between my brother and I.

How old was your mother John?
