Hey all, thank you for your vigilance for my mom. She came home to Kathy on Thursday, set up hospice care. She has been beat up over this whole thing and mostly sleeps. I still want to repeat how grateful I am for every thought and prayer we received from people here who don't even know me. I tell you, cheesy as it may sound, that I am touched and kinda misty as I type this. Beyond the idea that you all provided the extra spiritual power needed in this trying time for her, you also restored my faith in the sheer goodness of people, which gives hope for us all:)
    Thanks folks.

Mom's being well-cared for every week by a 4-day full assistant, 3-day RN, on call Dr., 1-day chaplain, and so Kathy is getting a break. She is bedridden, but you guys, she isn't suffering like before. She told me yesterday she feels so much better. But she cannot even lift her arm for the phone or the TV remote or the bed control. She's that weak. It being Hospice care, if she starts suffering, they will make her comfortable with pain medicine.
I'm just glad and relieved she's not suffering like before-that was such hell for her:(
thanks again you all-you helped put her in a better place.

No-mom's been so beat down with diabetes, shingles, busted bones, and bacterial infections she caught in the hospital- that she's bedridden; but since she's genetically a fighter, she's still hangin' in there. Were it not for those Italian longevity genes, she'd have lost the battle a while ago:(
I would love if she overcame all this-like a miracle. But she's 80 and knowing how I feel at 52 dealing with my own disability, I can see how that'd be asking for the moon.

    Thanks Chip:)
