I got home from work Sunday and my wife dropped a bomb on me... "Can we talk?'

    She wants a divorce...

Its one of those things that I saw coming but stunned me none the less...

I have rough road ahead of.me. any thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.

On a lighter note, I spent the day detailing the Taco. Its how I relieve stress. If anyone can understand that, its you guys.

    Wish me luck!

Off to find an apartment... Yuck...

I hope it all works out for the best.

Crap, I just watched Louis CK and it's probably too soon to recommend watching his standup.

Hey man, I'm in a very similar boat. My wife of 6 years, been together for over 12, two kids, dropped the same thing on me early in July. I'd been bopping between places (summer camp with my son, then house sitting for a friend) when I cornered her on filing to get the ball rolling so I could move on and let the kids in the loop when she decided to do a seperation instead. Is your wife willing to do that?

I've got some books that I've ordered that should be coming in that get good reviews. Once I start the read I can give you the names if they're worth it. If you can get her to try a seperation (even if not the legal kind, we don't have those in Michigan) then maybe it'll give her time to think. In my case my wife doesn't have anyone else and neither do I(as far as bf/gf). I've had to evaluate what went wrong and you probably should as well, there has to be a disconnect somewhere. Do a lot of research and take it all with a grain of salt, not everyone is the same and not all addvice is good.

If you feel the need to PM me, feel free, I'll give you my cell or email there. I'm not sure I'll be the best to offer advice as this, its my first venture in this territory, but we could bounce stuff off each other.

Keep your chin up, keep a level head (all those cliches are true), don't do anything you'll regret and be civil.

Went through the same recently, I was sad for a little bit but recovered quick. It's all said and done now and there's a lot of positive coming out of it too...that's what I focused on.

If you need to talk shoot me a PM
