After almost 14 yrs as a part of the family, I had to put my dog Hunter down after suffering from violent seizures the past few days. It was hard to say goodbye but it was time to let him go so that he won't suffer anymore. I never imagined that it would be as hard as it is. I'll see you again one day Hunter. We love you and you sill be missed.

[SIZE=+1]Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
    Iam so sorry

Yea I laugh when I think of some of the things he has done and get sad when certain things remind me of him. It will be hard to find a dog that will be at least half as mellow as he was.

    951TRD ,

very sad news indeed , I lost my best buddy in September after 17 years with us , it is very hard , and you think about them all of the time .

The rainbow bridge story above is what I imagine when I think of where my friend is now , when I first lost him I read an article called " Do pets go to Heaven " and the very simple answer was , " of course your pets will be there in Heaven waiting for you , otherwise how could it be considered Heaven "

I wish you the best ,

I just had a little moment myself , you sure get attached to your little buds and usually don't realize the extent of it until they have left ,
