My niece was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of five. She went through chemo and several surgeries, then into remission. She had been doing well for the last three years. She is now ten years old. This past Wednesday we found out that she has relapsed. The doctors don't seem to be very optimistic, so prayers are needed.

She comes from a very religious and strong extended family. We support all that we can, but put all our trust in god's hands and the doctors.

    God Bless,
    Chris

Her name is Hannah. She will be going through her treatment at Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta, GA. My wife made contact with a specialist from St. Judes in Memphis that is going to follow her treatment also (not that we don't think that the doctors at Egleston will do any wrong, just nice to have all the professionals that we can.)

    Thanks for all your support.

She went back in for her third (I think) round of chemo yesterday. They checked her "counts" and found them really low. We were told anything less that 1000 is bad and below 500 is critical, she is at 10.

Her hair started falling out this past weekend, so she decided to go ahead and shave it off. I think she really enjoyed it (she's been down this road before.) I think that by her seeing it fall out, it was kind of depressing. Now she doesn't have to watch it all fall out. Some of the other kids at her church shaved their head after seeing her's. I told her I would shave mine also, she responded by say "that's not doing much." (I'm bald and buzz mine anyways.)

Please keep her in your prayers! She needs all the help she can get!

    Chris

Thanks for the update Chris and thanks for the link.

To all of you at TW praying and/or sending good thoughts for Hannah and reading this, I went to her page and told her many from this forum around the country were praying for her. Why don't some of you go to her page and drop a few words and let her know you are praying or just thinking of her.

    http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/hannahlayfield

For my first name I put, "username on TW:" and for my last name I put in my username. It would be nice if some of the TW family stopped in and gave her well wishes and encouragement. Just a thought.
