    RIP Lucy.
    She's gone but not forgotten.
Just got back from seeing my uncle in the hospital. A couple weeks ago he had a little blood in his urine, so he went to his GP. The GP put him through the usual battery of tests, including a CT of his belly.

They couldn't find any reason for the blood in the urine. What they did find was a "large mass" in his belly.

He had the surgery a couple days ago. They removed a foot of his colon. The biopsy shows it is cancer, and it is malignant.

This man is 63 years old but you wouldn't know it by looks or by the way he acts. He plays golf nearly daily, goes skydiving, underwater snorkeling, plays and coaches softball. For my entire life I can remember he has always been the healthy, happy person. He's always been my "favorite" uncle, probably because when he was 15 and I was 2 or 3 he babysat me, and has always been special to me. Even in the hospital today he was smiling and joking around. He had my aunt sneak KFC into his room, and was hinting he wanted someone to go raid his refrigerator and sneak him some desserts.

    I'm in shock. And scared.

Please, prayers for him to continue his great life for another few decades would be appreciated. The world will lose a good one when his train finally leaves the station.

You got me choked up John and I'm sorry to hear this brother. Made me think of my fav uncle I just lost a few years back.:( I'll be prying hard for God to heal him. Sure wish I could meet up with him on the softball field, sounds like an awesome dude and I would have a lot in common with him. Hang in there and always try to smile around him to keep his spirits up. Sounds like a happy man that has no problem joking and smiling himself. Smiles help the healing.:) Can I get his first name for my prayer list please?

I know this doesn't mean much, but you definitely have my thoughts, hopes, and prayers. I know I don't know the situation, but honestly man, I think he is going to be fine throughout all this. Just make sure your uncle keeps a positive attitude throughout this whole ordeal and he will be back to doing the things he loves.:)

    Hey Ben

His name is John, same as me. He's always been "Uncle Johnny" to me. Didn't hurt the favorite uncle status!

Really appreciate the prayers folks. Now we can sit back and watch God do his thing!
    John

And Prescott, it means more than you can know!
