    Today my oldest sister found out she has thyroid cancer. That's about all they know right now. Its hard to handle because if anything bad happens to her she leaves behind 8 kids under the age of 10. Also I am so far away and can't really be there with my family right now.

    Anything is appreciated. Its been a tough night, little sleep and working a 12. Just want to hang in there till I'm done here in Ak and move back to the area where my family is!

    Well the date for surgery is May 17th and the radioactive iodine treatment is 4-6 weeks after that, just about the time I will be getting into CO. She says she doesn't feel symptoms so thats good to hear. Thanks again everyone who prayed for her! Keep it up!

    Well here's an update as of today, her surgery was today. The doc said that he could tell when he removed it that it was obviously cancer and that he didn't need the lab to certify that. He took out the thyroid and the lymph node associated with it. She's spending the night there and I guess going home tomorrow. In 6 weeks she will have her radioactive iodine treatment and hopefully that takes it all away.

    Thanks for everyone who prayed, it was appreciated.

    Yes I've heard this too, but like ya said, cancer is cancer! Its a definitely an eye opener knowing that your sister has it! :(
