And they live in NC. I'm in mass... As we speak, stuck in Philly waiting for next flight. As of now, he has no right side, in ICU and he has no idea who anyone is. Thank you in advance for your kind thoughts.

After visiting with family and assessing the situation, your first order of business will be to determine where he is going to receive care once he leaves the hospital. For families with lots of family, friends, church support…, home is an option. However, in most situations, the best place for him will be a skilled nursing care facility. There will be a social services administrator at the hospital. When this person speaks, listen intently As soon as he's medically stable, the hospital and insurance company will discharge him. In almost every case, the family feels it's far too soon. Get a jump on it right away and visit several facilities asap. The very worst facilities and the very best cost about the same. The very worst will be filled with indigent patients on Medicaid – the GVTs medical welfare system. The very best will be filled with people paying there own way. People with adequate resources and private nursing home insurance (not to be confused with medical insurance), will not be found in facilities with Medicaid beds. Additionally, the best staff and care givers do not work in facilities with Medicaid beds.

Wishing your pops a full recovery. I’ve seen it many times, so don’t lose hope.

I've been in this situation with my dad once and it's a very helpless feeling to be so far away. Stay strong for your dad! Lots of prayers going up for him right now.

Almighty and Merciful God. Please send your angels of mercy to wrap their wings around this family at this time. Please give to them strength and patience to weather this medical crisis. I ask that you minister to their spiritual health, and to the spiritual and physical health of Dave's father. Please give to Dave's dad's physicians the wisdom and dexterity to make medical decisions and actions fruitful and in his ultimate benefit; helping him heal quickly and completely. I ask for your grand healing hands be on Dave's father. Hold this man and please give this man peace and comfort, and the knowing his family is there for him. Lord, I ask these things of You because I know that through You, all things are possible.

Thank you Father for listening to me. Amen.

Dave: May He bless your dad, your family, and watch over your travels.
