Nothing wrong with using Amsoil in the rear differential. I plan on switching to Amsoil in the diff. when the time comes. Make sure you get a limited-slip additive if you have a LSD.

You'll be ok. My 07 has Lsd rear diff and these clutch type mechanical setups can be finicky. There will be sticker on back of diff that says LSD oil Only. If no sticker then likely open diff and any oil will work. If your ordering lube from Amsoil know ahead of time what u need and if u have LSD make sure the stuff u get either has additive (friction modifier, LSD additive etc) or order it extra. I would recommend that even if the oil has additive going ahead and ordering an extra bottle to have in case u get any noise or vibes. And if u do only add 1 to 2 ounces at a time with some driving in figure 8s in between until your happy.

I have talked to other sr5 owners on TW with LSD as well. Apparently they were on some sr5 units and not others. Go figure

Nah. Do a search for "beware changing LSD lube" or something to that effect. There were reports of amsoil and redline working good, but not so well with mobil1 and royal purple
