    Safelite = Shit

    On my FJ, scratched the crap out of my A pillars (they paid to fix), and installed the winshield incorrectly. I could see waves in the glass reflection. Before their supervisor could come out to inspect...Crack. I had to fight to get it replaced. NEVER AGAIN SAFELITE!!!!

    did a great job in baltimore, and i think around here you sign a paper acknowledging the fact that it can crack during the reapir. Thats not uncommon i dont think...

    I've heard some great things but also some horror stories. Assuming it comes down to individual locations. Personally, I wouldn't use them.

    Had to replace my windshield. Safelite gets a lot of bad ratings on the internet, and I was told they cannot manufacture to the same standards as OEM glass. Had mine replaced with Universal OEM, better quality and cheaper too.

    I've had two chips on my windshield repaired...they did a good job and my insurance covered it. They came to my house too. I was happy, so tipped the guy $20 each time. It is warrantied so I figured why not?

    Sucks the op had problems, I remember them telling me there is a chance that the windshield could crack, maybe their tech sucked.

    Pilkington makes a decent windshield glass for cheap. Used to work for them. As far as windshield repairs I'd recomend all star glass. There are a few in orange county.
