Too late now but I want to get a decent alarm system for my TACOMA. Think I left the doors unlocked and someone stole my expensive camera overnight(yes I know the locks are an integral part of the security system). But the perps also busted the neighbors BMW window. So I want something that will trigger when the door is opened. Not something that will go off when it thunders. Don't need remote start or anything. Just looking for something that will make a bad guy think about running when he opens the truck door.
    Thoughts, suggestions, opinions...

The stock system is just keyless entry, right?

My 2001 did not come with a key fob nor a security system and I am looking to get one before an incident occurs. I do have power locks. One hurdle is that I am a dog owner.

So I am looking for an alarm system that can have 2 settings. 1- When parked on the street at night etc (all systems on guard) 2- When I run into the store with the dog still in the car (security measures for locks but can not be set off by a barking/moving dog).

Anyone by chance have any idea if this alarm system exists?

Check Compustar Alarm with the Drone IPhone APP. Remote start, Cell based 4g wireless functionality; locates your truck and uses google maps app to give you directions to it. Way cool
