    I've got a UG but I can't say it's made me drive any different. I like being able to see the instant MPG and hand calculated it is within +/- 1 MPG each fill up. I'm happy with that.

    I guess my experience is different than others, but when I first got the Ultragauge I was getting about 21 or 22 MPG. I then got it up to a consistent 24. The real savings came from learning the good driving habits from the internet. THAT brought me from 20 MPG to now 26! That's right, I am averaging 26 MPG right now with my 265/75R16 Bridgestone Alenza Pluses. They are very fuel efficient and since they are larger in diameter, travel further. Also a 3" lift. I may need to calibrate my distane a little more accurately which I am working on (if anything will increase MPG)
    May I add one thing?

    10,000 miles per year @ $3.60/gallon
    19MPG= $1895/year
    20MPG= $1800/year
    21MPG= $1714/year
    22MPG= $1636/year
    23MPG= $1565/year
    24MPG= $1500/year
    25MPG= $1440/year
    26MPG= $1384/year

    The more you drive and the higher the gas is, the savings increase. I use 10,000 and $3.60 conservatively.
    Super worth it IMO. MikeyJD has gotten even better results, I am not that great at driving efficiently just yet.

    That was just to illustrate how much savings can build up. To answer your question, the UG should improve your MPG by about 1 or 2. The rest is your own habits. The way the UG helps aside from showing what you're doing wrong, it that it is almost like a mini-game to get the avg MPG gauge where you want it. Without the UG, you won't try as hard. I say get it, mine has already paid off. Not to mention the other things people here have claimed (other gauges, etc)

    I hope this helps!! :)

    Thanks for your input. I think this would help other people as well to get a realistic feel for how much they can improve.

    That's what I was aiming for :thumbsup: I know it gets a bit of flak around here but I think it really is important, whether you offroad or not. I am a PreRunner but after college (And a redesign) I will be buying a TRD OR Tacoma and will still try hard to get good MPG. It's just like lowering any other bill. Good luck! :)

    I think with the redesign they are upgrading trans/engine so getting better mileage will be easier :cool:
