Nerf Bar Selection & Compatibility

Hey guys, I am attempting to do some research to find the cheapest Nerf Bars as well as determine if a 2014 setup would fit my 2015 double cab tacoma. Any suggestions and input would help a ton!

I'm looking into the same thing.

I'd LIKE to buy a set of Westin Traxx bars, but Westin says they don't know if they'll fit the 2015s. They haven't had one around they can measure. (I called them this morning).

Meanwhile, several online retailers are telling me "sure, they'll fit the 2015s" while several others say "we don't know."

So I'm going to spend $250 on something I won't know will fit until they're here, then I get to pay return shipping?

Anyone?

Buehler?

Well, that's one vote. Thank you.

Which model did you buy?

don't know how you did it.

I just spent over an hour trying to get those on my truck.

FYI: Westin 21-22770 does NOT fit 2015 DC Tacomas.

Found an online deal, dealer assured me they WILL fit. They didn't. middle mounting clamp comes up about 2" short. Back in the box, UPS picks up tomorrow.

Back to searching.

I read tons of posts on here saying that 2014 bars will fit 2015 because there was no change. Long story short the Nfab/Smittybilt DO FIT!

So I got the 20% coupon from autoanything.com in my inbox the other day and ordered the nfab/smittybilt T0678CC for $266 shipped.

Made it to Virginia by Tractor Trailer in 4 days, I was happy.

Put them on and the passanger side fit perfect, the drivers side had a little fitment issue with the front toward the frame. I had to get the middle bolt put in and use all the adjustment they have in them to make it fit and it is still very close to touching.

Overall I am happy with the function and look of these bars but somewhat unhappy with the manufacturing tolerances.

Hope this helps since I was in the same boat

Can you add some more pictures, at least from the side? They look good from that one picture.

Hemmed and hawed, looked at other sites, Runningboardwarehouse among them then I found the real truck.com site and bought the Raptors:
Raptor 4" Curved Oval Nerf Bars
Part#: CY-1504-0270
Nerf Bar Finish: Polished Stainless Steel
Nerf Bar Mounting Style: Mounts to Frame
Vehicle: Tacoma Toyota (2005 - 2015)

$269.99 delivered. Took about 50 minutes to install. ALL parts are marked. Driver's side, passenger side bars and each bracket is marked passenger front, middle, rear, etc. Westin just throws the stuff in a box with piss-poor instructions and you're left trying to figure out combinations and permutations for about ten minutes while you sort things out and it STILL didn't fit (as I mentioned previously).

I like these bars. No cheap plastic end caps that will fall off over time - I've seen many of these in parking lots from other brands. Solid, welded, my ONLY complaint is the project about one inch "too far' from the sides of the truck for my tastes but my wife really likes them. Wider than what I had on my 2010, better grip surface.

You could do worse.

Raptor 4" Nerf Bars

Took another look at them and they're not so bad after all.

OEM bars run closer to $400 and are painted (powder coated), they DO chip.

That's one of the things I like about polished stainless. No corrosion or chipping when people smack their car doors into them in parking lots.

It's very satisfying to take a little piece of scotchbrite and buff off THEIR paint instead of having to touch up MINE.

Grist for the mill.

Sounds like you got a good set. Mine would not fit at all. Now waiting for return shipping back to AutoAnything. Someone in China welded the brackets in the wrong spot and they sit too far forward. I would have to bend the brackets, and it would still rub against the suspension mounts. Anyone know if a company still makes nerf steps in the US? I don't care, I"ll pay the extra.
