Floor mat reviews

I just took posession of a mint 2005 Doublecab Taco with 28k on it. Only downside (other than a missing center cap) is that it has NO floormats.

Finding myself in the market now for mats, I've read a lot about WeatherTech, Husky, OEM, and Wal-Mart options.

Here's the question: should I pull the trigger on a set of "digital fit" mats (that won't be here for a few weeks due to a wicked shortage), or should I go the Wal-Mart option until redesigned Toyota OEM all-weather mats are available?

Get the Husky Liners. I've had them in my '02 for seven years now and the carpets still look new.

I just got the Husky's online for $58 and free shipping, I don't personally know how good the Weathertech's are but I have trouble believing they are nearly twice as good as the husky's, but they cost nearly twice as much. It took 4 days from ordering to delivery to get the Huskys.

There are no "death mats", it boils down to OPERATOR ERROR. You can improve coverage, fit, looks & containment but you can never completely idiot proof anything from brainless inattentive professional hall of fame morons. If a fuckin floormat is this much of an issue for anybody then how could trust that person to be able to manage to safely use the gas pedal, brakes, clutch, gear shift & steering. Sure, fix the floormats then they'll find another way to kill themselves & others. Maybe floormat 101 should be part of the driving test to begin with? Nobody ever warns of floormat danger in defensive driving either. OMG!!!!!!!!!!

Fair nuff. To many moving parts can be troublesome.

Suck it up and get the Weathertechs. They are the best due to the total coverage including between the door area and the mat.

If the purpose of the mat is to protect the carpet and keep it dry, why would you waste your time on the 'cheaper' Husky's that don't accomplish this?

That might work down south, but in Maine, you'll be tracking in snow and grime for 5 months out of the year. Initially saving some money on the inferior product, only to end up with trashed carpets due to lack of coverage is not really 'saving' money at all.

BTW, I have had both the Huskys and the Weathertechs due to them not making Weathertechs to fit the 2000 etra cab i had previous to the buyback. No comparison on the coverage.

get the weathertechs, or the rebranded weather techs at cabelas. Mabe they have them in stock. They are called trail gear, but they are the same. Just throw a towel down in the meantime....

I bought mine from Cabela's last year. Quick delivery and fit like a champ out of teh box.

I think i paid about $140.00 for fronts and rear due to having a $20 off coup from Cabelas

Thanks for all the advice - I've ordered a set of the WeatherTech "Digital Fit" mats. Should be here in a week or two! Oh, and if anyone wants some, my dealer beat the best internet price I could find: final price was $155 for front and rear (plus tax.) Give Kevin a call at Berlin City Toyota in Portland, Maine and I'm sure he'd do the same thing for you.

Tell him Jim O'Brien sent ya

Just be aware that Cabelas does not seem to carry the same rear mat that you get from Weathertech. These are the better ones:

I really like the way the better Weathertechs fit the back seat of our double cab. This is what Cabelas shows on their site:

I am not for buying anything at Wal-Mart. But I do have the Toyota all season mats and they are fine.
