I was looking in to purchasing the TracRac Pro, and I was curious how easy/quick they are to get on and off. I'm looking to haul surfboards (longboards) on my 2006 Tacoma Double-Cab shortbed. I only get to go ever-so often, so I'm thinking that I'll want to leave the ladder rack off most of the time.

I looked in to the bed-extender route, but with a 9'0" board hanging out the back of the 5'0 shortbed, it just seems a little risky.

The TracRac pro seems like it will do the job nicely, but I was just curious if it was going to end up becoming a permanent fixture :)

not to many, love it the way it is
from the looks of them they seem easy to take right off, just unscrew the knob and slide it out. maybe the base stays on the truck? I may get a set of these one day
