You all have convinced me to lay down a few George's for this little gadget! Once installed you also eliminate the risk of striping the threads on the oil pan every time you change the oil.

I would, but it wouldn't do you much good since I'm a 1st gen and with an aftermarket skid plate.

Just some brief estimates, but without the nipple, probably a little less than a half inch lower than the stock. About an inch lower with the nipple. Maybe a little bit less.

The one without the nipple is 1" long - so probably about 3/4" longer than the stock drain plug.

    Here's something for off-roaders...

    Warning:For users under extreme conditions:
If you are using the Engine Oil Drain Valve on off-road vehicles such as farm tractors and logging equipment under extreme environment (i.e. corn fields, brush areas), it is recommended that a hose clip as shown below be used for extra safety and security. The hose clip, which can be purchased at any hardware stores, will firmly keep the lever in the locked position at all times.

Just found this on onother site...Not sure if thiss code still works...
Put your order through at http://www.quickoildrainvalve.com/ Make sure when you check out, you enter "YM4" and select apply. Enter your zip to figure in your shipping and continue the process. This code will take $2.30 off of the 103 and $2.60 off the F-103N.

Good question, I had my oil pan replaced and I was faced with the problem. The treads of the valve will stick out inside the pan about 1/8"
So I took my trusted hacksaw and put a groove in the treads for the same lenght.. Tested it afterword and all oil drains to the last drop. Also I chose the valve with out the hose adapter for the reason of extending down to far.
    Take care

Years ago, I bought a small general aviation airplane. It had a quick drain fitting on it and later found out that most of the planes in the tie-die area had one also. Never had any issues with it and now after seeing your post, may go out and get one for my Taco

If you do any off-roading do not get the Fumoto drain valve with the nipple!

It does protrude past the skid plate. On a recent off-road trip I got very close to breaking the oil drain valve off. After I felt a few rocks slide across the skid plate I looked under my truck to find that I missed hitting the nipple by a few inches.

I love the ease of changing my oil with this valve, so I will be cutting off the nipple. Also I am thinking of making a new engine skid plate that provides more protection around the oil pan.

I have been looking at these for awhile too, and just checked the site and found they make one with a shorter nipple http://www.qwikvalve.com/F103S.html it looks to be 7/16" shorter.

I like the nipple but it does make is drain slow. With patience, it's perfect.

I would definitely get rid of that nipple if I was off-roading over rocks like that.

I have Fumoto Valves on my Tacoma and my wife’s Honda Pilot. After approx 15 oil changes combined couldn't love them more. I would highly recommend them unless you are rock crawling.
