2 feet to short. Doesn't it go behind the right rear tire?

Sounds like you have a long bed and you got the exhaust for the short bed. The difference is about a 2 foot extension pipe that they add to the kit.

She drives the trail limo version, the part ordered is for a standard double cab short bed or extra cab long bed not the double cab long bed version you have.

Just contact them and get the extension that will let it come out the rear of the truck like stock.

I phoned them and told the tech what truck I have and he said what I ordered was correct.
He actually said to me that toyota changed there chassis f0r 2012.
I also know 2 other people with the same truck, same issue.
I asked about an extension through them too, he told me they don't do that.

So ya I will make it work, no prob, got some good buddies who work in shops, just a little wierd if they know this why they wouldn't tell anyone.
    Thats all.

This is for the short bed, you have a double cab long bed. You need the extension, the chassis did not change for 2012.

    There are 3 wheelbases:

    Single cab long bed
Access Cab and Double cab short bed
    Double cab long bed.

I totally understand and agree with what your saying. I phoned Magnaflow and talked to a tech, I listed the truck I have down to a tee, I asked if the exhuast I ordered was the right one. He said yes. I asked why it would be too short. Then he told me about the chassis thing.
I asked about an extension, he told me they don't do that.
    See my conundrum.
I already have an extension being made, just a little wierd with what I was told.

So OP...they sold you a product the knew was not correct for your truck and advertised that it will. I'd demand your money back or do the easy thing and get an extension.

Ya. I even told them they should do something about it, the guy kinda shrugged it off. What evs, I have a buddy making an extension, prob cheaper then shipping it back since I am the way up north.

I got a Volant cold air intake too, she's a bute!
Can't wait tell the exhuast is there too.
