    Just my opinion but Erics mid and t-case skid designs are preferable to Kevins. No low hanging bolts and the t-case skid has lots of bends and the welded sides which makes it a lot stronger than the flat plate with a small tube cross member. Kevin makes nice stuff too, don't take that the wrong way just think Eric got it right with these skids.

    So after I finally got my skids mounted today, I got to thinking. Since the skid covers the stock Jack point, where is the best place to use a floor Jack on the skid to lift the truck. Dead center, or centered on one of the mounting holes, or does it really matter? I know these things are tough, but also heard about someone bending one on a rock today.

    I would say smack in the middle of the skid(left to right) near the forward mounting locations and the bend. That is a very strong point on the skid plate. :cool:

    I put my floor jack right on the edge on the crease. Use a wood block to spread out the load. Good to go.

    Mine are installed as of last night. Painted the Relentless cut out with my indigo ink paint and clear coated that. The rest was just spray on bed liner. I'll post a picture later

    Is there a reason that these skid plates hang so low? Is it to clear a potnetial diff drop or to give space for bending? My whole skid plate is 1"+ from the lowest parts, which is the jacking point and rear cross member.

    They are quality beefy skids and I see other designs are similar, but why so low?
