As a "you already know" item.

If you fling a wheel weight with home rebuilt axles,,get the wheel(s) re-balanced,,asap. Have them check for lateral runout on the wheel while they are there. You want next to zero lateral runout (or deflection),,if at all possible. They should check that,,but get busy and forget sometimes.

Applies to both high mileage front and rear axles.

If you split a boot and toss the grease out,,and have a bad or constant muddied wheel,,evil things happen rapidly with those bearing surfaces.

So these boots solve the issue of the pleats touching? My OEM boot just wore through from contact. Found it today when I was changing the oil. I have the OME 3" lift

Yup, slight pleat contact,,,a very small pattern on all pleat surfaces. Making a sharp turn and having contact there,,off angle driving,,you know,,the usual. Only way to not get touch is to lower the thing,,or find a rubber boot alternative pulled outward stressed thin,, or,,. I think I am in the 30K plus area on mileage. Been spraying them down per every other oil change with shed wax,,or a quick wax out of a spritz bottle. It seems to be working pretty good. A little tip I used when I raced 1/8 scale offroad to remove drag and free it up in the corners. For this gig,,just trying to make them last.:fingerscrossed:

My truck has 55k on it and they wore through. Put my lift on at about 10k. I'll have to order a couple sets

Sub! Will be needing a set at some point, installed my lift w/ about 300 miles on the truck. Definitely will be nice to have on hand instead of waiting for a boot to tear
