I'm currently looking for something to replace my suspension with that's not all together expensive, and possibly with some lift, does anyone have experience with the Pro Comp MX-6R adjustable shocks?
    Thanks-
    Ryan

I don't have any experience with them but heard they are crap. Bilstein 5100s is a good option if you are on a budget.

    Whats your realistic budget?

Remember to do it right the first time.

    Pro comp stuff is terrible..

Billstiens are budget shocks and struts, bad ride but inexpensive.

Add a leaf and blocks are also a bad option for long term lift ideas and any offroading will suffer terribly

Thank you all for the heads up on pro-comp! At this rate I'm of the opinion anything will be better than my current set up though, tends to rattle some teeth. My realistic budget is probably close to about $1,500 or so, and my dad might pitch in to help as well. Looked at Billies, also at things like ToyTec, etc. Opinions? Ideas? For the time being doesn't have to be a lift, but my arb has turned my truck into a bit of a lowrider:p

Are they adjustable for any lift? Probably want 1" to get my front closer to level with the rear. I think my suspension is pretty much shot, will my coils need replacement?

If you have 1500 to spend get a nice OME setup. I think I spent about 1800 on mine including Camburg UCA's.

    Pro Comp shocks are crap.

Holsteins in the front are adjustable but icon, fox, and king have more fine adjustments. Plus they can be rebuilt and tuned for your needs.

If I were gonna go with an adjustable cow... Holsteins for sure. ;) :D

why dont you pm some of the vendors on this site and do it right the first time, for 1500 you will be able to get an icon setup, for a little more I got an icon setup and unibal uca's. Chaz at TAP gave me a good deal.

I was joking due to his auto correct of Bilsteins to Holsteins. Nothing wrong with Bilsteins. :) Downsouth Motorsports and Wheelers Offroad have great prices on lift components and can hook you up with good info on brands, etc.

Haha, I was wondering why I hadn't heard of that...
Anyways, thank you for that. Out of curiosity, I had been told that this setup was good, but wanted to know if anyone here had done it?---

Little more pricey, but it looks like there are areas to cut back.

    there is a typo in your thread title, it should be as follows;

    Experience with Pro CRAP?

I had some procomp rear shocks and they were really shitty.

i've had OME and Fox 2.0's The Fox stuff was great! the OME was pretty good too but just not as nice of a ride as the fox, not adjustable either, or rebuildable.

with your budget you could get the Fox 2.0 front coil overs and the 2.0 rear shocks, an add a leaf for the rear and you are good to go. you may find that you need a carrier bearing drop or rear axle shims if there are any vibes after the lift.

but if you feel that your suspension is completely shot you may want a full leaf pack over an add a leaf, only you know that. do you have a 3 or 4 leaf pack now?

Haha, so I've heard... I was under the impression that a fox coilover setup ran close to my budget with the coilovers, let alone with rear and a leaf pack or add a leaf. I am on whatever factory is as far as leaf number.
