Did you know this guy? Normal people/companies don't just randomly offer people they don't know jobs.... The real world doesn't work like that.

Nonsense. I get offers like that in my email all the time.

"Make $1,000 a week working from home!"
"Make $10,000 a month assembling simple products in the comfort of your own home!"
"This mother of 5 makes $200,000 a year working part time from home! And you can too!"

I'm sure they're all legitimate businesses that just need some extra help.

Sometimes they do, but they turn out to be pyramid schemes or they are 100% commission based so the recruiter has nothing to lose. If you perform, you make money, if you don't, you don't make squat. Anytime you hear 'work in your spare time', I wouldn't trust that position to be your primary source of income unless you have a stash buried in the back yard.

When you say "stash" what exactly do you mean

Bill suddenly develops an interest in the conversation when the word 'stash' comes up.

Anything secretly buried that, if dug up and sold, could provide you with a substantial amount of money. I'll leave it at that.

This. Was offered 20 for a 300 dollar pool ladder and the asshole wanted me to deliver it. While one expects negotiating there are times I just pay the asking price if it's reasonable

Same here. People here can be pretty cheap, but generally not nearly as cheap as CL.

CL is awful to sell stuff on now. When I tried to sell my mazda the kid tried to nickel and dime me on it. I finally told him to f off and traded it in.

If you think selling a tomato gives you a substantial amount of money, then I suppose yes. It's all relative but I prefer something with a slightly higher value and something that can be socked away for long periods of time and retain it's value or appreciate in value.

I hear ya, I hate selling stuff on craigslist. I sometimes dread buying stuff on there but have generally had good luck. If the deal offered is good, I don't even try to negotiate.
