I haven't had any issues at all with my tacoma ecoblock, and it's been about 4 weeks and at least that many tanks of gas now, maybe a little longer. Seems to be about 1mpg better on average, maybe a little bit more.

I ordered one for my wife's 13 forester and unfortunately it looks like I'm going to have to send it back. It was in for about a week but just yesterday she got home from work and had a CEL, code P0171. I cleared the code and took the ecoblock out and so far she's driven about 40 or 50 miles with no CEL. It looks like the ecoblock maybe caused too lean a condition?

Anybody else have a subaru with the standard 2.5 engine with one of these? Maybe the subaru is just leaner to start with than the tacoma, don't know?

We have many Eco Blocks on Subarus as that is our primary business. Are you sure that the O-ring was correctly installed so there were no air leaks? During the R/D process we even ran a much thicker EB on that platform without any CEL's...

    Let me know please.

    Quirt,
Thanks for the quick reply. It's my wife's car and she drove it about a week before the light came on. It does have an aem dryflow drop in filter, would that make a difference in lean condition?

The air filter will not have an effect, but a dirty MAF sensor or an old o2 sensor will cause an issue. When the o2 sensor gets old, it takes them longer to make a trim which will lead to a cell light. How many miles are on her car?

She only has about 50,000 on it, but I guess I could use some MAF cleaner spray and see if it lights up the CEL again. Thanks for the answer, the one in my tacoma is working great.

    Thanks :)

It's all about the MAF sensor as opposed to the motor though. Can you post a photo of the MAF sensor on your 02 LC?

Wow, more or less just skimmed through this thread. Read the first few pages entirely. Its interesting to see the nay sayers flip.. Still no dyno i see! No biggie. I wont pretend to act like i know anything on this subject. What sold me though was seeing darryle's odo. My truck has never seen over 320 on a tank, and that was only ten years ago. Im not so interested in mpgs as bhps! As this really isnt my dd (that falls to the two door 94 accord, got one for that car?) I plan to buy one in the next couple weeks after i go back to work. Question is do you have a q1 (04 v6) in aluminum instead of the plastic? remember the bling adds power!!!

Also, what the hell were you guys smoking when you figured this out? After all you are in CALI! But honestly, how did you guys come up with this one? Sorry if you already went over this..

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
Speaking of which Quirt has anyone stepped up to put their 6 speed on there yet? I'm there first week of June after Moab and still available.

    Good post :)

Honda did not start using a removable style MAF sensor until around 2003 and none of the manufactures where that far along in 94, sorry.

Q1 and Q2 only come in plastic, we did the original testing with a 3D printer as this was the quickest process at that time. We decided to make Q3 out of aluminum so we could offer them to customers while the molds are being made. When the molds are finished then we will discontinue them in aluminum unless we have customers that don't mind the extra cost associated with a billet aluminum part.

Re-tuning an engine computer is what I have been doing for over 20 years now so the concept of how the Eco Block functions was actually simple as we use the same concept to gain resolution from the MAF sensor on our high power turbo packages.
What pushed me to make this product was a contract with Scion Motorsports and the locked down ECU that Toyota uses. We had a small budget and needed more power from the race cars so we tossed one on the dyno and started playing until we had a solid increase that was safe enough to live on the race track. The increase in fuel mileage was just a side benefit of running a more efficient air fuel ratio.

Well, i bit the bullet and ordered one anyway. Sounds like you've got a fun gig. Bummer you can't hook up q1 in aluminum, but its all good. Can't wait to get mine (im in nor cal so it should be relatively quick) and report back. If all is well i plan to purchase one for my mom's 2010 rav4. Quick question on the rav. She barely drives it, maybe 30-40 miles a week. From the sounds of it this may not benefit her. Am i wrong? Thanks for actually being a cool vender and being informative. Also tell ken block that video of him.in the la river was bad ass!

I do love my job... it's a lot of work but very rewarding. On your moms rav4, it will for sure benefit her but it will take longer for her to start seeing savings that someone that is going 300-400 miles a week.

That Ken guy is the one with a fun gig!! I want to go play in the river basin, that looked like a blast :D
