So I recently decided to ditch the setup I had before which was KBVoodoo bed brackets, Yakima LoadWarrior, Rocky Mounts Clutch SD. Unfortunately I do not have a picture of my old setup handy. The reason for the change was I had the chance to purchase an Extang Solid Fold for a price I could not refuse from a coworker who sold his Tacoma.

My new setup took a good amount of parts, but it seems pretty solid so far. Just wanted to post it in case anyone was looking to do something similar. Here's what it looks like:

    Parts Used:
Only reason I bought so many locks is because I have other Yakima products.

Here are some pictures of the Summit Racks Bracket:

So I tried sliding the tonneau cover off. Not what I expected, but it's okay.

This is how far I got:

Weatherstripping got stuck on bracket. Raingutter mounts are not allowing for cover to be lifted enough to clear the bracket. Oh well.

Suppose if I really want it off, I'll just remove the rack in one piece, take off the cover, and put the rack back on.

This looks like it turned out great!

Any pictures of how it mounts to the top of the bed rails?

    Thanks.

I'll take some pictures of them later today for you. I should have done an unboxing thread or something but I was too anxious to put them on.

I added some photos of the brackets. I'll continue to add more since there is interest. My original inspiration was from someone who had used Yakima's permanent system and drilled into their tonneau cover. That was my original plan too until I thought more about it and decided I wanted to try to avoid damaging the cover. So now with this set up, not only did I not damage the cover, but the cover can be removed. :) I'm going to do a dry run of the cover removal tomorrow and I'll be sure to take pictures.

What kind of weight do you think you'll be comfortable with running on this basket with this setup?

Awesome! I seriously considered a very similar setup, but couldn't bring myself to spend 170 on those Summit Brackets!!! I wish there was something similar available for less $$...(hint hint, KBVOODOO!!)

My only issue with this setup is not being able to fully open the Extang cover with the rack mounted.

$170 is a little pricey for four brackets.....

I'm not afraid to put weight on them as they feel pretty sturdy. According to Yakima, their raingutter towers can support 165lbs. The basket, crossbars, and bike mounts weigh about 53lbs, so that leaves 112lbs to work with. That should handle my needs easy enough.

That is one unfortunate downside. Hopefully not an issue I cannot live with. :)

    ;) ;)

I agree, but I figure they will be on there for a very long time. They seem pretty well designed for their purpose. Wonder if a similar design could be used to create a lower priced alternative.

I picked up some inno c channel clamps and bars for my bed rack. You can get the clamps on Amazon for 100 bucks think I paid 50 for the cross bars. I will try to post picks when I can

^ Looks like a good inexpensive option for a bed rack. However, those would not work with the Extang Solid Fold tonneau cover (or any other cover that I can think of). That is, if I am looking at the right ones on Amazon
