IMO flowmasters are too small. they dont allow the sound to resonate. the magnaflow muffler is larger and the extra size helps make the exhaust note deeper

The magnaflow muffler i have is one of the larger ones. its a 5x11x22 oval. makes for a good deep sound. its a magnaflow universal muffler.

not too loud, no highway "drone"

I have never heard the 4 cyl. I have the 6 with the trd cat back and sounds good to me. But in theory a 4 cyl is like half of an 8 cyl, right? So if you had an 8 cyl with strait pipes off of each side, it would be like 2 4 cyls? right? So I would think its possible to make a 4 cyl sound good. I don't know. I'm just throwing that out there. Its just a wild guess!

In theory, that sounds plausible. However, in practice it's pretty inaccurate.

The cylinder firing order and cam / valve timing have a lot to do with what the exhaust note sounds like. Point in case, the latest generation Yamaha R1 has the new crank and cylinder firing order, as well as revised timing. It sounds nothing like the previous gen R1 engine, despite being similar displacement and cylinder configuration.

I got headers and flowmaster on my 1st gen. It's pretty deep sounding and no exhaust popping.

if you are looking for "cheap", ask yourself "WHY". Just my opinion though.

the reason i want cheap is because im leaving for alaska in january and i still have to drive my truck for a few months. a move to alaska isnt cheap from anywhere and id like to do something with it before we leave. so cheap is what im asking and if you dont have an opinion, shut up. im looking for honest suggestions and not smart a$$ remarks. i know what i want to do eventually, but right now, its not feasible.
