Any car with the ironically named "quick disconnects" are typically a pain to change the fuel filter in. Once you're good at it and/or have the correct tools, it's usually not bad, but It takes a LOT of force.

The older cars with simple hose connections are much faster and easier.

Im debating on getting a 2002 double cab, But 15 mpg isnt really to appealing. Is anyone getting better than that? I drive 50/50 and 15 is just simply unacceptable for me.

ARB bumper, warn 9.5 winch. carbon fiber hood. Leer top with thule racks and MOAB from thule. Electric fans, blue sea fuse block, Sony dvd Head unit, Xm tuner and HD tuner. New carpet and new racing seats. ( other half doesnt like them i think). Nwor springs and adjustable coil overs. Sky jacker rear shocks. Slot and drilled rotors. Engine Titanium ceramic coated headers, no cat, jba cat back. URD Rear Sensor Simulator. Leds all around and inside cab and HID H4 hi/lo beams.
23.5 mpg on my scan gauge says.

Jba headers and cat back. tho the cat is missing.

Before i did that i was lucky to get 18.

Strange alot of people say you dont see a difference i do. No i haven't changed my driving habits either.

At 18 mpg i didnt have a arb bumper and winch on board at the time.

Pretty sure I changed it back in July. I know it was almost immediately before I started using Fuelly, because that's what prompted me to start tracking my MPGs more closely.

Wow, I'm going to change out my fuel filter and spark plugs, because almost all of you guys are getting crazy milage over what I'm getting...

For some reason I can only get about 14-15 mpg which is what I thought everyone with my set-up was getting. I'm running 265 X 75 X 16 BFG AT's with an AEM Air Intake kit on the 3.4 V6... I've found that if I keep my foot off the gas and keep the RPM's down to 2500 or less, that I get an extra mile or 2 per gallon. However, driving like that makes me nuts, so I don't do it... Besides, I love the way my motor sounds with that intake kit. :)

if you think staying under 2500 rpm is annoying, try staying under 2krpm. That's where I get the greatest economy. It's certainly a great way of getting the finger though, lol.

Try cleaning the throttle body plate too, I found that that helped.

Got 15.5mpg on my last tank, probably 80% highway. This is after the URD 7th injector, throttle body cleaning, and I've done a fuel filter a few thousand miles ago. I didn't put new plugs in when I did the URD/timing belt/etc maintenance, but I'm already running IK22s and they only have 8K miles on them. I may swap some new ones in this weekend just for fun, though. After that, I am out of ideas.

I drive fairly easy, keeping it at or below 2k rpm when possible. Last tank before I did Seafoam treatment was at 18.6. After 1/3 in fuel 1/3 in vacuum line, next tank went to 19.2. I just replaced my oxygen sensors but still need a new catalytic converter. Hopefully I'll see another slight increase until then.

Yesterday i calculated and i got 14mpg. No highway at all. In town and off road. I thought it was pretty good with 2.5 inch lift and mud tires.

    I get average of 16.5. (3.4L V6)
    Just highway is 20.
With the Ultragauge I was able to check real-time and it is a amazing to see how just a little city driving can impact your average. A typical trip from home to the kids' school is 16 miles. 3 miles city and 13 highway, and even though I get 20 all the way on the highway my average for the trip is 17 just because of the 3 miles city.(not real city, but red lights and neighborhood streets with stop signs) When you sit at a red light, or even taking off when it turns green you can just see you the average count down.

Did my first long trip in the Taco over the weekend. Two dirtbikes and gear/luggage for two people etc. Got a low of 17.5 and a high of 22.5 running 65-75 from Colorado to California. Didn't figure that was too bad for the 4cyl with 5 spd.
