This might seem like an obvious suggestion - but consider where you will park the truck. I have a 2010 DCSB Sport and almost bought a DCLB. No difference in looks to me - I originally just thought a 6' bed is better than a 5' bed - nothing else considered I still think thats probably right. However, the wife any I do a lot of cycling and I keep a Yakima DoubleDown bike rack on the truck for probably 9 months of the year. A DCLB would fit nicely in my garage - but with the bike rack on it - it would be a very tight squeeze - only a few inches of clearance. I went with the DCSB because of this and have not regretted it once. I put an Undercover SE lid on the bed and I rarely have to haul anything very large in the bed - so the extra foot of bed length wasn't a big deal to me. I've had the truck for 2-1/2 years and have never wanted/needed to haul anything that wouldn't fit in the bed. I had to haul some long tables back to a buddies house a few times after a tailgate party - had to haul them with the tailgate down - but would have had to do that with the 6' bed also. Consider what you'll need/want to haul - and where you will park it.

no regrets, because I didn't buy one. Wasn't even a consideration. If I was looking at a double cab, the shortbed option would be completely out of the equation.

LB came in handy for haulin' lumber and movin furniture. If you're a serious off roader, I would go for the SB.

About 1% of the time I wish I had a long bed, but then I remember I have a tow package and can always get a trailer.

I like the truck either way, but prefer the Double Cab over an Access Cab, so dealing with the Short Box isnt that bad. Very rarely have issues.

I personally couldn't deal with a 5' bed, with my line of work. I haul construction tools and materials during the day, newspapers at night, and scrap metal in my spare time. Gotta have that bed space. It really depends on how often you use it, and what you use it for the most.
