I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.

I did a paddle mount that I installed in my center console. I preferred that over the coin tray cause I could put a full size in there.

Great input guys, I appreciate it..

I'm thinking I'll stay away from coin tray as well based on the size. With that in mind, Do you worry about drawing from your console or is it a fluid motion for you now? I used to ride with mine between the seats also, but want a little more security as far as holding it in place but I don't want it to be easily seen. After looking at the safe packer from wilderness, I'm going to try to make my own 'safe packer' type holster out of a first aid canvas bag. Not sure how I'm going to rig it up yet or how well it'll work...but if it does, it'll be about a $10 investment total.

I had one of those hip holsters that bolted to the part that mounted on your hip. I pulled the screws and made mounting holes inside the center console so it held it fairly rigid. It was great for a right hand draw. Just practice popping the center console open and you'll get a feel for it.

So Justin (and whoever else cares), Turkey Bay OHV at land between the lakes, kentucky is actually a really good park for our trucks. A stock 4x4 could hit all the primary trails, and probably some of the secondaries too, if it's dry. It wasn't dry. :D It was pretty soupy, and my ATs filled up quick once we got up to the mud... Some parts of it are rocky though, so I stuck to those. Good stuff if anyone is in that neighborhood.

And oh yeah... No fucking mud holes! Mudding it up is explicitly disallowed.

good deal. i mapped it up the other day and that is actually not only on my way back to my old hometown but just a hair over 2 hrs from it. so that means i have passed the exit for it numerous times. and probably camped very near to it when younger and didnt realize it.(parents had a cabin for a few years on kentucky lake) glad you liked it. may have to drag you out again to take me sometime.

Yeah man, my buddy and I talked about going again when its dry out, maybe in the fall or something, and renting a cabin. I'll let you know if we actually do it.

His stock 4x4 f-150 did a lot better than I would have expected, although the street tires killed him on the mud, and he took some of the easier routes to make sure he didn't damage anything... I'm going to suggest he get square tube sliders (he's looking at step bars) in the interim, then I think I'd be able to yank him through some stuff I'd be worried about right now.

I'll say this about ford, his traction control and stuff did very well, and his actually steel (come ON, toyota!) bumper didn't get damaged when he slid into a mud bank.

well just rem it is a 4+ hr drive for me so i would say 3+ for the huntsville guys. and pretty much the entire stretch of I24 there isnt crap and some parts you go several miles without an exit. so all vehicles that went would need to be very reliable. just to give a heads up. unfortunately ive traveled that stretch of road one too many times and didnt even think about going to the park on my way.
