I started talking about this on TW Live and it was suggested that I make a separate page so here it is!

Thats the Original plan. This is the first night and I already changed it ::rollseyes::

MTgirl let me in on some info that yellow stone isn't fully open yet so I need to figure that out. 212 looks open so I may cruise through from northeast to north then up to Bozeman and down the west side. Does it makes sense... No. But why not?

A few others clued me in on some info about SD and the risk of over estimating gas mileage. I'm surprised and happy to say that from NY to Ottawa Illinois I've gotten an average of 18.5 mpg with dura tracs and a fully loaded bed. Not to shabby.

If you have any info you'd like to share feel free. I'm all ears.

I like it. When are you looking to start and how long will you be on the road total?

If I might make a suggestion. I just did a road trip from Edmonton to Halifax via the northern states not too long ago.

    1. I enjoyed the Mall of America in Minneapolis, world's largest mall.
    2. You should stop somewhere in Wisconsin for cheese curds. I found a quaint little place called the Mouse House Cheesehaus. Just north of Madison, Wi on the 94.
    3. On a suggestion from someone on here when I was planning my trip, check out Frankenmuth, Mi. Just north of Flint. It has the world's largest christmas store, and a very good brewery. The whole town is made to look like a Bavarian village.
    4. Niagara Falls 'nuff said.
    5. Make sure you have cash available, as the toll highways get pretty expensive. Especially through New York.

Well I already started today was my first day. 730 miles.

Unfortunately I already passes Michigan and Wisconsin. My next stop is northern Nebraska. Then go through wounded knee, badlands, mt Rushmore, black hills national forest and devils tower.

Thanks for the suggestions though! I appreciate it.

    Sweet ones.
I'm currently road tripping myself!! Started in Philadelphia, PA and eventually ending up in the SF Bay Area. I see you are going through southern UT. I would highly recommend staying a night or two in Bryce Canyon. Not only is it gorgeous and amazing, but it's also an awesome place to hike, bike, camp, etc.

ALWAYS looking for a good beer haha. I had to bring some PA beer (probably a HomerTaco favorite) with me to deliver to Cali.

I'll let ya know when I get up to Bozeman though. Thanks again for the info. It would suck to find out the hard way.

Salt Lake City. I happened to be staying with some friends in Sandy and they are currently getting (snowing as I type this) a pretty solid spring storm in the mountains. Snowboarded on 12+" of fresh powder up in the canyons today. Heading west later this week when I get my fill.

730 miles in a day. Man you are moving! I thought I was putting down rubber at 400-600/day. I'm also pulling a 6x10 trailer (~2500lbs), so 65 is my top speed.

I recommend coming down to San Bernardino, CA while you're down there- tons of great wheeling and camping at Cleghorn and Goreman.

For going through UT, I recommend going across the southern part. Don't miss Zion Nat'l Park, or Moab!

For CO, if you can make it to Ft. Collins, too many craft breweries to list, and an awesome downtown "old town" vibe with live music and rad food. Foods like "Cheeba Hut" "Rasta Pasta" "Beaujos Pizza" and "Big City Burrito" are my top recommendations for grub.

If you make it around LA, I'd be down to meet up and show you around to some cool spots! I'm in Long Beach, but grew up in Ft Collins, and went to school in Salt Lake.

    Safe driving!

Thanks man. I've been to Moab and Zion. I plan on stopping by Moab for sure and plan on going to the meet in May.

Also been to Ft Collins but just a brief visit a few yrs back. I'll definitely make my way back up there this time around.

I have a friend at UCLA. depending on my timing, I may be down there visiting her. If I do though I'll let ya know.

Always nice to meet new people.

I will add Cody, Wy and Virginia city, NV. On return trip I would drop down to Cortez, CO. Take 160 to Durago then the million dollar hwy 550 north is well worth it! Go through Ouray to Montrose. Take 50 through Gunnison and all the way to Pueblo. All awesome roads with great sights! Have a great trip!

Well in that case...there's lots of options for beer! After you're done driving for the day of course ;)
