I always wondered how it would turn up for guys that bedline their rockers if they were to bedline it then color match over it :notsure:

Someone should guinea pig that idea!

color match over top, never thought about it. don't know how well the paint would adhere to it though

I ordered one last week. A few days later I got an email with my order # and that it was shipped USPS. Got it in the mail today and installed it.

Nice! If I were to get one, that's the exact spot I was thinking of mounting it. Is that just velcro mounted?

I used the vertical surface mount...seemed to fit well right there. I removed the big plastic piece under the steering wheel and routed the cable through there...looks clean and no holes drilled. Took 10 minutes tops. Kinda covers the little LED red light for the security system..but i park the truck on my property and I have a loud dog and lots of guns so i'm cool with the cover up of the little blinking red light.

Haha that works! I've got a viper system so my led is up on the windshield so no worries there. How much did you end up paying total with the mount and all (after rebate)??

Rebate? Shoots...didn't know about that. I think I was around $75 out the door.

    Look at build!
Just use the tintable raptor liner and color match it and spray away.. You'll get a much better bedline product than the spray can stuff

Many writeups on this... I decided to swap my taco's HVAC controller with a used 02 4Runner one, easy plug and play mod. Plan to get rid of all the orange (I actually still do like the color at night) and going with the green center console (I do like more). It's part of the horrible separation anxiety issues* I'm having jumping ship form my old 3rd gen 4runner to Cargo, my 1st gen taco. More on why I did the entire unit swap vs just swapping the faceplates are posted on my build.

*Interestingly, when I had a Prius as my DD I never had this kind of separation anxiety moving away from a vehicle to another, but boy did that fckr save me on gas $!! lol :D

Orange paint taco faceplates VS no color paint on 4Runner :

Got some green in the buttons, nice to not see an orange AC button anymore (I've got some OCD issues :p):

    Today:

Husky floor liners (haven't put in the pass side yet)

    IMG_0823[1].jpg

Revamped interior...just have to adjust the wet okole seat covers and put the side covers back onto the seats.

    IMG_0822[1].jpg

    Not today:

K&N FIPK (I know, I know...I got it because my stock intake was cracked and falling apart...will be running a UNI foam filter over the K&N filter)

    IMG_0824[1].jpg

Welded in an angle-iron cross member onto my 4xinnovations front bumper so I can run stock skids again.
